Shibunkaku Co., Ltd. and its affiliated entities, Gallery Shibunkaku and Shibunkaku Publishing (Hereinafter “the Group”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) believe that it is our social responsibility to protect strictly any personal information about our clients and our employees.
We declare protection of personal information as one of the important corporate activities and we will work to protect your personal information according to the following privacy policy.

1. The Group will clearly specify the reasons for acquiring, using, entrusting, and providing any personal information within the scope necessary for the achievement of its business activities. We will only use personal information acquired for the specified scope of use and will take appropriate measures not to use any personal information beyond the specified scope.

 

2. The Group will develop the management system of personal information protection in accordance with Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) Q 15001 and will operate those systems appropriately, handling all personal information in accordance with the laws, regulations and normal business practices of Japan.

 

3. The Group will conduct educational activities for our employees and will appoint persons in each department who manage and operate the management system of personal information protection. We will continuously review and improve the management system.

 

4. The Group will take reasonable and appropriate security control measures and will apply corrective actions against risks such as loss, destruction, alternation, disclosure without intention, and improper access of any personal information. We will select trustees who meet a sufficient level capable of protecting personal information, and will take appropriate measures through the use of a contract when entrusting the handling of all or part of any personal information.

 

5. The Group will respond appropriately and promptly to any complaints or inquiries from the principal regarding matters of disclosure, correction, deletion, and/or cessation of his/her personal information.

Handling of Personal Information

We believe that it is our social responsibility to protect strictly any personal information about our clients and our employees. We confirm the Privacy Policy as the standard, and develop the management systems of personal information protection, and will continuously review and improve it.

1. Acquisition and use of personal information
When we acquire and use personal information, we identify and convey the purpose of use. We will handle the personal information within the scope necessary to fulfill the purpose of use. We will take measures to prevent personal information from being used other than the purpose.

We will not provide any third party with personal information except when one of the following conditions is satisfied:
1) Consent has been obtained from the principal
2) Personal information must be provided to protect human life, health, or property and it is difficult to obtain consent from the principal
3) Disclosure or provision of personal information is legally mandated for compliance with the Laws and Regulations
4) The business entity is succeeded due to merger, spin-off, business transfer or other reasons

 

5. Optionality of provision of personal information
Provision of your personal information to us for the purpose of use specified above is arbitrary. However, please note that incomplete information or absence of information may prevent your use of our services.

 

6. Acquisition of personal information by a method which the principal cannot easily recognize
We will not acquire personal information by any method which the principal cannot easily recognize without making it to the principal.

 

7. Disclosure, etc. of personal information
Upon receiving a request to disclose, correct, delete, or otherwise handle personal information, we will respond appropriately and without delay to the request, after verifying the identity of the principal.
Any personal information acquired in the disclosure request or other procedure will be handled within the scope necessary to fulfill the particular purpose of the procedure, including verifying the identity of the principal, responding to the request, and using the data for a survey, etc.
