Born in Tokyo, Foujita graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He gained high acclaim in the Paris art world for his signature "milky-white" skin tones and delicate line work. After a temporary return to Japan, he was recommended as a member of Nika-kai group and the Japan Art Academy.
