歎異抄 No. 21　1988年

歎異抄シリーズ二十点の総仕上げとして、「善人なほもちて往生をとぐ、いはんや悪人をや」の句を書いた二点の中の一。二十点の制作を通じて獲得したそのあやうい逆説に接近せんと切迫した筆蝕で書きあげた。

As the final piece to add to the twenty previous works in the Tannisho series, this is one of two pieces featuring the poem, “If even a good person can attain salvation, how much more so an evil person!” I wrote this dangerous paradox with urgent brushstrokes, trying to approach the style I had come to realize through the creation of the twenty pieces.
