Nakamura Masayoshi (nihonga painter; 1924−1977)
A Nihonga painter born in Aichi, Nakamura studied under Nakamura Gakuryō. He was active in Nitten before leaving to work independently. He exhibited at the Gendai Bijutsu-ten exhibition, Nihon Kokusai Bijutsu-ten exhibition, and held numerous solo shows, while also contributing to dramas, films, and other projects. Nakamura founded Hitohito-kai group and engaged in various initiatives aimed at reforming Japan’s art world. He was widely recognized as a 'maverick genius.'
